Golf Life TV: Holiday Episode

In this episode of Golf Life TV, we take you to San Diego, CA where Callaway and the San Diego Padres teamed up to bring you The Links At Petco Park, we show you some new products that might look great in your bag in 2017, and we give you the best lessons from some of the top teachers in the United States.

We start in San Diego for The Links At Petco Park. For the second year in a row, Callaway Golf and the San Diego Padres teamed up to bring you this amazing event. If you don’t know what The Links At Petco Park is, it is where Callaway Golf turns Petco Park into a 9-hole par-3 golf course! It is an amazing experience. Starting at home plate for the first hole, you navigate through the stadium hitting incredible golf shots. It is not your typical golf course, though. There is no putting, chipping or drivers. You hit off a mat, wherever the hole is, and you try to make it in circles surrounding the green. If you make it in one circle it is a birdie, if you make it in another it is a par. Anything outside of the circles is a bogey. When you think about playing golf on a baseball field, it is exactly how you imagined it would be!

We then give you a great insight on the golf swing by talking to several Top Teachers! We were curious to hear how different or how similar teachers philosophies were when it comes to the golf swing. From John Miller at the Reserve in Indian Wells, CA to Orange Whip’s Jim Hackenberg, you get to see all the directions coaches are going these days. Where it is with the swing or the mindset, you will gain some insight on how each teacher thinks!

Because Christmas is approaching, we give you some great ideas of how to make the holidays special for the golfer in your life. Golf products like the Voice Caddie (where a device shows you distances and yardages of every shot you hit), the Swing Coach Club (a training device that shows you where your speed and acceleration should be in your swing), and smaller products that are great stocking stuffers.Click Here to save money this holiday season on the newest golf apparel!

In this episode of Golf Life TV, we head out to Reno, Nevada where we talk with PGA Professional. Now-a-days on Tour, all the golfers out their look the same. They almost look like robots out there hitting and putting. But what separates a group of golfers from the rest any given weekend? If all of them can put the ball in the middle of the fairway, hit a high number of greens and can get up and down, what makes some different than others? We spoke with Rob Oppenhem (9 professional wins), Bronson Burgoon, Derek Ernst, Bryce Molder, and Robert Garrigus. The outlying factor to winning each weekend is PUTTING! Putting is the single most important factor to winning tournaments each and every week. If you can’t make the routine putts within 10 feet, you won’t be on the leaderboard. You have to make the putts within 10 feet and hope you drain a couple from 30+ to get yourself into contention.

We then asked what parts of game management do you need to have to be successful on Tour. Most of them said you have to be able to manage the Par 5’s. If you are able to continuously card low numbers on the Par 5’s you will be in contention. Par 5’s, on the PGA Tour, are holes that you gain strokes with. If you are struggling with the Par 5’s, the chances of you carding a winning round will be hard!

Golf Life also took a trip to Palm Springs, CA where we learned more about the Power Package for Golf Life TV. The Power Package is a new, revolutionary training aid that helps get your swing in the right spots throughout the whole swing. Champions Tour player, Tom Pernice Jr, is a huge fan of the Power package and endorses it!

Then, Top Teacher, Shawn Cox gives us a unique and simple putting tip that can help your putting stroke. Timing and tempo is crucial for putting and if you want to be a good putter you need to focus on those to aspects! The backswing to the forward swing to the release of the ball of the putter face can mean the different in hitting a straight putt and having the correct distance.
